Episode 7 – Jnana Vijnana Yoga: The Yoga of Knowledge and Realization
The battlefield of Kurukshetra lies silent, yet the true storm is within Arjuna’s heart. He has heard of the soul, of selfless action, of meditation. Yet now he hungers for something deeper — the essence of all, the true nature of the divine, the secret that binds knowledge and realization into one.
Krishna, seeing this thirst in Arjuna, begins to speak, His voice a river of truth flowing through the ages.
Listen, Arjuna. Hear from Me fully. With your heart fixed in devotion, with your mind disciplined, you shall know Me completely. Knowledge is vast, but beyond knowledge is realization — the wisdom that awakens the soul. This I shall reveal to you.
Among thousands, perhaps one seeks perfection. And among the seekers, perhaps one truly knows Me. Such is the rarity of true realization. Yet with devotion, even the rarest path becomes open.
Know this: Earth, water, fire, air, space, mind, intellect, and ego — these eight are My lower nature. Beyond them is My higher nature, the eternal soul, the life-force that sustains the world. These together are the womb of all beings. From Me all arises, in Me all dwells, to Me all returns.
Arjuna listens, his eyes wide with awe. Krishna’s voice deepens, His words carrying the weight of eternity.
There is nothing higher than Me, Arjuna. All rests upon Me like pearls strung on a thread. I am the taste of water, the light of the sun and moon, the sacred syllable Om in the Vedas. I am the sound in the ether, the strength in man, the fragrance of the earth, the brilliance of fire. I am the life of all that lives, the austerity of the disciplined, the eternal seed of all beings.
Without Me, nothing can exist. Yet though I am the source of all, few recognize Me. Deluded by desire, blinded by passion, men chase after wealth, power, and illusion, forgetting the eternal that sustains them.
But the great souls, O Arjuna, who take refuge in Me, who know Me as the source of all, worship Me with unwavering devotion. They are ever satisfied, their minds fixed on Me, their lives offered to Me. Such men are rare, yet they are the true jewels of humanity.
Arjuna bows slightly, his voice soft. O Krishna, what of those who worship other gods? Do they too reach You?
Krishna’s eyes shine with compassion. Whatever form a devotee seeks with faith, I make that faith steady. If he worships that form with devotion, he attains his desire, but it is I alone who grant the fruit. Yet the rewards of such worship are temporary. Those who worship the gods go to the gods. But those who worship Me with undivided devotion come to Me, the eternal.
Understand this, Arjuna. The ignorant see Me only as a human being, not recognizing My supreme nature as Lord of all. Veiled by My own divine power, I am not easily known. Only through devotion can one pierce this veil.
But those who strive, those who purify themselves, those who serve with unwavering faith — they know Me as the eternal truth, the origin without beginning, the ruler of worlds. They surrender to Me with love, and I receive them fully.
Arjuna’s heart trembles with awe. He sees Krishna not merely as friend, not merely as guide, but as the eternal source of all.
Krishna’s voice rises like thunder rolling across the heavens.
Cling to Me with devotion, Arjuna. Fix your mind on Me, surrender your life to Me, take refuge in Me. By such devotion, you shall know Me fully, and knowing Me, you shall return to Me.
Closing Reflection in Krishna’s Voice
O listener, know this truth. Knowledge is vast. Books, rituals, studies, philosophies — all are paths. But knowledge alone is not enough. Realization is needed. To know that water quenches thirst is knowledge. To drink it is realization.
So too with the divine. To read of God is knowledge. To surrender, to love, to live in God — that is realization.
Seek not only knowledge. Seek realization. Fix your heart on Krishna, the eternal within all. See Him in the taste of water, the light of the sun, the breath of your life. Surrender with devotion, and you shall be free.
This is Jnana Vijnana Yoga — the yoga of knowledge and realization.
