Arjuna sits in silence, overwhelmed by Krishna’s revelations of divine glories. He has heard that Krishna is the source of all — the sun, the moon, the mountain, the river, the seed, the soul, the brilliance in all that shines. His heart swells with devotion, but a yearning grows within him. He wishes not only to hear, but to see.
Arjuna bows deeply, his voice trembling with devotion and awe.
O Krishna, O Supreme Lord, I believe all that You have said. Truly You are the eternal, the source of all. Yet if You deem me worthy, reveal to me Your cosmic form, the universal vision, so that my eyes may behold Your infinity.
Krishna gazes upon Arjuna, His smile filled with both compassion and majesty.
Arjuna, behold now My divine form. But you cannot see Me with these human eyes. Therefore, I grant you divine sight. With it, you shall witness the cosmic form that none has seen before.
The battlefield itself trembles. The armies seem to fade into silence as Krishna reveals Himself. His form begins to expand, dazzling, infinite.
Arjuna beholds a vision beyond imagination. He sees countless mouths, countless eyes, countless forms shining in every direction. He sees Krishna blazing with the radiance of a thousand suns rising at once in the sky. The universe itself seems contained within Him.
He sees all gods, all beings, all sages, all creatures — dwelling in Krishna’s form. He sees infinite faces, adorned with crowns and garlands, blazing with weapons, resplendent with divine ornaments. The light is unbearable, the vastness incomprehensible.
Arjuna trembles, awestruck, overwhelmed.
He sees the sun and moon as Krishna’s eyes. He sees fire blazing from His mouth, scorching the worlds. He sees the stars, the sky, the oceans, the earth — all within Krishna.
He sees the warriors of both armies rushing into Krishna’s mouths, crushed between His terrible teeth, as rivers flow into the ocean, as moths rush into flame. He sees destruction, creation, eternity itself in motion.
Arjuna bows low, his voice shaking, his body trembling.
O Lord, I see all gods in Your body. I see Brahma upon the lotus. I see Shiva, the Rudras, the Vasus, the Adityas, the Maruts. I see countless divine beings. I see You without beginning, without middle, without end. I see You blazing with countless arms, countless forms, devouring all.
The worlds tremble at Your sight. So do I. My heart quakes with fear. O Lord of lords, O cosmic form, I see You consuming all directions.
Krishna’s cosmic voice resounds, vast and thunderous.
I am time, the destroyer of worlds. I have come to annihilate all. Even without your effort, all these warriors will perish. Therefore arise, Arjuna. Become My instrument. Defeat your foes, conquer the battle, and establish dharma.
Arjuna bows lower, his voice barely a whisper.
O Lord, O infinite form, forgive me. In ignorance I have spoken to You as friend, calling You Krishna, Yadava, companion. I did not know Your greatness. If ever I jested with You in play or in rest, forgive me, O immeasurable one.
My heart is shaken. I seek refuge in You. Show me again Your familiar form, O Lord of mercy.
Krishna, compassionate, draws back the cosmic blaze. The infinite dissolves into the gentle, familiar form of the charioteer, smiling with tenderness.
Arjuna breathes deeply, his fear replaced with devotion. He bows with tears in his eyes.
Krishna speaks softly, yet firmly.
This vision you have seen is rare. Even the gods yearn for it. Neither study, nor sacrifice, nor charity, nor austerity can grant it. Only by devotion is it seen.
He who works for Me, who makes Me his supreme goal, who serves Me with love, who is free of hatred toward all beings — such a devotee is dearest to Me.
The battlefield is silent. Yet within Arjuna’s heart, a storm of awe has become a river of devotion. He has seen the cosmic form, he has heard the voice of time itself, he has felt the infinite. And now, with Krishna by his side, he knows his path is clear.
Closing Reflection in Krishna’s Voice
O listener, know this. The Lord dwells not only in temples, not only in scriptures, not only in distant heavens. The Lord is all — the sun, the moon, the time that consumes, the love that sustains, the eternity that guides.
You may not behold the cosmic form with mortal eyes, but know it within. See the divine in all, from the smallest leaf to the vast sky. See Krishna in every breath, in every soul, in every moment.
Surrender in devotion, act with dharma, and you too shall behold the infinite, not with the eyes, but with the heart.
This is Vishwarupa Darshana Yoga, the yoga of the vision of the cosmic form.
