Episode 16 – Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga: The Yoga of the Divine and Demonic Qualities

The battlefield of Kurukshetra waits in silence. The armies stand ready, yet within the chariot of Krishna and Arjuna, the war of truth unfolds. Arjuna, now filled with awe for Krishna as the Supreme Person, seeks to understand the nature of men. Why do some rise toward light, peace, and liberation, while others fall into darkness, cruelty, and ruin?

He bows to Krishna with devotion.

O Krishna, tell me of the qualities that lift a man to divinity and those that drag him into demonic ruin. How may one walk in dharma and avoid the snares of adharma?

Krishna’s gaze is steady, His voice both compassionate and thunderous.

Arjuna, there are two kinds of qualities in this world: the divine and the demonic. The divine lead to freedom, the demonic to bondage. I shall tell you clearly, that you may choose the path of light.

The divine qualities are fearlessness, purity of heart, steadfastness in yoga, charity, self-control, sacrifice, study of the scriptures, austerity, uprightness.

Nonviolence, truthfulness, absence of anger, renunciation, peace, compassion, freedom from greed, gentleness, modesty, determination, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, absence of envy, and humility — these are divine qualities, O Arjuna.

The demonic qualities are hypocrisy, arrogance, pride, anger, harshness, and ignorance. Those who are born with divine qualities move toward liberation. Those with demonic qualities move toward bondage.

Arjuna listens, his eyes fixed upon Krishna, as the battlefield itself seems to reflect the eternal struggle between light and darkness. Krishna continues, His voice like a river cutting through stone.

The demonic know not what is right or what is wrong. They have no purity, no truth, no discipline. They say the universe is without order, without truth, without God, born only of desire. Following such false vision, they act with endless greed, with hypocrisy, with arrogance. They are bound by insatiable desire, pursuing wealth and power with cruelty and blindness.

The demonic cling to lust, anger, and greed, the three gates of hell. Through these they destroy themselves and others. But the one who turns from these gates, who practices self-control, who walks in dharma, attains peace.

Arjuna feels the words strike his heart. He sees within himself the seeds of both — compassion and anger, humility and pride, purity and desire. Krishna’s voice rises with urgency.

Therefore, Arjuna, abandon the three gates of hell — lust, anger, and greed. Walk the path of truth, of purity, of self-control. He who rejects the teachings of dharma and lives in selfish desire is lost. But he who follows the guidance of truth, who acts in harmony with wisdom, who surrenders to Me — he reaches the supreme goal.

The armies remain silent, yet within Arjuna a new fire burns. He sees the choice before every soul — to live with divine qualities, or to fall with demonic. To rise in dharma, or to sink in adharma.

Krishna concludes, His voice both tender and unshakable.

You are born with divine qualities, Arjuna. Walk with courage. Live with purity. Cast aside anger, greed, and pride. Fix your heart upon Me, and you shall never fall.

Closing Reflection in Krishna’s Voice

O listener, know this truth. Within you dwell both seeds — divine and demonic. At every moment, you choose which to water. To live in fearlessness, in truth, in compassion, in humility — this is divine. To live in greed, in pride, in anger, in cruelty — this is demonic.

Do not be deceived by the world. The gates of hell are wide and glittering, but they lead only to ruin. The path of dharma may seem narrow, but it leads to freedom.

Therefore, walk as a soul of divine qualities. Cultivate purity, courage, compassion, humility. Offer your life to Krishna, and you shall rise beyond fear, beyond darkness, beyond death.

This is Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga — the yoga of the divine and the demonic.
